5 Go To Snacks On The Go

I think it is fair to say many of us struggle especially when it comes to snacking in our nutrition. How the heck would we not. If you walk into any grocery store or convenience store the entire place is filled with absolute junk. While it certainly is okay to indulge occasionally on your “sometimes” food it can really hinder our nutrition goals FAST.
Many of us have extremely busy lives. Life in general is so busy anymore no matter who you are. I love whole nutrient dense foods, but sometimes we need decent options for quick grabs on the go.
Here are some of my absolutely FAVORITE go to snacks I take on the go that all have high protein. Protein is my PRIORITY.

1. Chomps: These meat sticks are very snacky. You know when you really want that snack type food 😂 Chomps has a variety of different kinds of sticks. My personal favorite is the Venison version. YUM! These are 10g of protein per stick. You can find these everywhere: Amazon, WalMart, Target, Sam’s, Costco, etc. The macros on them are very good as well.

2. Built Puff Bars: If you need something sweet, pick a built puff bar. They have so many flavors! Depending on the flavor you can get 15-17g of protein per bar. They are great sweet treat. You can also get these everywhere. The built website has the most flavor variety however.

3. Promix Puff Bars
: These are like rice crispy treats. They are so good. Any flavor I have tried has been great EXCEPT Banana Bread. Advise against getting that flavor. These bars have 15g of protein each bar. Promix has a few different bar types. I love that Promix is absolutely clean ingredients. These can only be found on the Promix website.

4. Premade Protein Shakes: I do prefer powder protein in either water or milk when I have a protein shake. One, it’s most cost effective and two, I think it’s more fresh. HOWEVER, when you are on the go, it’s not always an option. I really love the Fairlife brand in general. We use their milks and they have a solid premade protein shake. They taste great, not chalky, and have a really good amount of protein in them. I much prefer the chocolate flavor of these and they give you a whopping amount of 30g of protein per shake. Unbeatable!
5. Edamame: These edamame beans I love! While I love fresh edamame, it is harder to have that for a quick option if you are in a bind or need to pick something quickly. Edamame is a great protein source, especially for those who limit or eat no meats. This particular brand I get on Amazon, and they also come in individual packs for on the go. Each pack is 11g of protein. They have sea salt and sriracha flavor. SO good and easy.

Planning ahead and having handy quick snacks available always will only benefit you in the long run. You are far less likely to grab for something more unhealthy if you already have snacks handy and take a few with you everywhere you go.
